Wizard Boots Hazy Pale

Okay. Okay. Let’s talk fancy footwork shall we? To be more clear, we’re fired up today to get into this little number we like to call Wizard Boots. Inspired by the industrious footwear worn by the wizards of wort production who reside deep in the realm of cellars and the brewhouse. It takes more than just great ingredients - some mystical beings must don the attire, greet the dawn, and spark the fires underneath these kettles.

It all begins in the mash where we initiate the harmonious steeping of a blend of floor-malted Admiral Maltings Pilsner and Pale malt. Additions of white wheat and malted oats complement the grist and provide a silky mouthfeel while enhancing the luxurious foam. These higher protein grains complement the unfiltered or ‘hazy’ appearance of this otherworldly little pale ale.

It’s not that we don’t appreciate the category of Hazy IPA and/or Hazy Pale ale - but - we’re intentionally striving for something a bit more effortless in our approach. Wizard Boots by design finishes drier, and appears brighter than many offerings within the field. We think this application highlights big ripe citrus and lush notes of melon without the laboriously sweet finish that often plagues the style.

Our Hazy Pale also highlights the groundbreaking variety from Indie Hops called Luminosa. Big on breezy peachy, citrusy, and candied orange notes without the usual residual impact of resin or pine. We balance this showstopper with additions of classic Amarillo and Simcoe in the dry hop and in the kettle.

Juicy. Tropical. Layers of citrus fruit. Impressions of peach and mango. Soft pillowy body. Velvety texture. Need we say more? Fall under this seductive spell of a brew and drink deeply. Long live Pale Ale.
